Reporto F.A.Q.s

What consent do I need?

When using Reporto, it's important to obtain informed consent from your clients. AHPRA advises that health practitioners should inform patients about the use of AI tools that require the input of personal data. It's not clear if this strictly applies to tools like Reporto or if it only applies to public tools like ChatGPT which may use your data for other purposes. Best practice is to let your clients know that you are using an AI assistant to prepare their report.

Is it legal to use Reporto?

Yes, it is legal to use Reporto in Australia.

Reporto is designed to comply with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), which governs how personal information is collected, used, and disclosed. All client data is securely handled and is only used for the purpose of completing reports to support assistive technology applications.

According to AHPRA AI Guidelines, you should get your users informed consent before using AI tools. For more information, see our Privacy Policy, and Terms of Service.

What are the risks of an AI assistant?

The main thing to be careful of when using AI, is that the assistant can "Hallucinate" or add details that seem believable or aren't accurate for your client. Reporto automatically uses Context from the rest of your report so it will generally be much more accurate than other tools but it will still "Hallucinate" sometimes. For this reason it's important to proof read the generated answers very carefully and watch out for inaccurate information.

Which report template should I use?

NDIS breaks down which kind of report you should write depending on the cost of the Assistive Technology that you're applying for NDIS Guidelines. You should use the High Cost Template for any High Cost AT (over $15,000). You don't have to use the template for Mid Cost AT ($1500 - $15,000), but it can still be useful to use the high cost template.
